IMD has forecast widespread rainfall across southern India from October 17–23, with isolated heavy to very heavy rain expected in parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also expected in several areas, while coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep are under a fishermen warning for squally weather.
