𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗷, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮: 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝟭𝟳𝟱 𝗠𝗩𝗔 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗨𝗦𝗔 𝗔 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 India's heavy electrical equipment manufacturing sector has marked another export milestone. Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited (SSEL) has shipped its first Extra High Voltage (EHV) power transformer to the United States. The transformer was manufactured at the company's Naini facility in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝟭𝟳𝟱 𝗠𝗩𝗔 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 The massive transformer is rated at 175 MVA and 345 kV. This is an important technical distinction: its rating is 175 MVA (megavolt-amperes), not 175 MW (megawatts). The unit is designed for extra-high-voltage power transmission infrastructure. However MVA and Megawatts are exactly Equal when the power factor of the electrical system is one, meaning all the apparent power is doing useful work. In certain conditions both MVA and Megawatts are interchangeable. 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗨𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗦𝗔 According to the company, the transformer was manufactured at SSEL's Naini Works in Prayagraj and shipped to the United States. SSEL described it as its first EHV export shipment of a 175 MVA, 345 kV transformer to the US, highlighting the company's growing ability to manufacture high-voltage equipment for international markets. 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 The company is now looking well beyond this single shipment. CEO Sharat Chandra Kolla said SSEL is targeting ₹500–600 crore in exports over the next 12–18 months from its Naini facility. The company is also working toward securing approvals in European markets for power and distribution transformers. 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮'𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 The shipment is significant because equipment of this scale must meet demanding engineering, quality and performance requirements for international power grids. SSEL President Sudheer Vennam said the dispatch demonstrated the company's ability to undertake larger assignments and supply equipment meeting global utility requirements. 𝗔 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 '𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮' For Prayagraj and Uttar Pradesh, the export provides another example of high-value Indian manufacturing reaching a major global market. Rather than exporting only smaller electrical components, an Indian facility is supplying sophisticated EHV power-transmission equipment to the United States—a noteworthy development for India's manufacturing ambitions. #MakeInIndia #MadeInIndia #Prayagraj #UttarPradesh #USA #Manufacturing #TheYouth
