CBI has booked environmental activist Bhanu Tatak from Arunachal Pradesh over alleged illegal foreign funding.
Bhanu Tatak, legal adviser to the Siang Indigenous Farmers’ Forum and coordinator of Dibang Resistance, has opposed the 12,500-MW Siang Multipurpose Project on the Siang river and a 2,880-MW Dibang project on the Dibang river.
CBI alleges she received ₹17.6 lakh+ directly into her personal account between 2022-25 without mandatory FCRA registration, from foreign organisations including:

- 🇬🇧 Human Rights Resource Centre
The agency alleges the funds were used to organise and sustain anti-dam protests, potentially affecting India’s economic and strategic interests.
