🚨 PRECISION FROM A DISTANCE: 🇮🇳 IAF Tests Homegrown 140-km Glide Bomb
> The IAF has carried out a successful drop trial of the homegrown Khagantak-243 long-range glide bomb, calling it a milestone for the force and Indian industry.
> The 300 kg-class stand-off weapon, developed by Nagpur-based JSR Dynamics with electronics and guidance from Bharat Electronics Limited, is designed to be released from high altitude and glide more than 140 km to its target.
> Unlike a regular bomb that falls in a curve, it uses mid-body wings and tail controls plus INS and satellite navigation so the fighter can stay well away from enemy air defences.
> It carries a Mk-81 blast-fragmentation warhead of about 125 kg and is meant first for the Su-30MKI.
The IAF said the trial met all objectives and adds another indigenous precision-strike option under Atmanirbhar Bharat.
