The human brain makes approximately 35,000 decisions per day. Around 200 of those are about food. Fewer than 100 are genuinely conscious. The rest are made on autopilot — habit, environment, emotion. Every addiction, every habit, every impulse purchase happens in the 34,900 decisions you're not paying attention to. The people who know this best aren't scientists. They're advertisers.
